Band of the 107th United States Colored Troops (USCT) at Fort Corcoran (Arlington Line Defenses, Virginia).

The regiment was organized in Louisville, Kentucky in May 1864. The 107th was transferred east and served with the Federal 18th, 25th, and 10th Corps, participating in the Petersburg, Fort Fisher, Carolina Campaings in 1864-65.

After the surrender of Confederate forces in North Carolina in April 1865, the 107th was transferred to the Department of Washington to garrison the Defenses of Washington, including Fort Corcoran, 1 of 20 first-class designated forts.

The 107th USCT was mustered out of Federal service on November 22, 1866.
