(Jul. 06, 2009) Aviation Electronics Technician 2nd Class Michael Mitchell, left, from Fort Worth, Texas, celebrates with his daughter Daria Dunnuck, and mother Pauletto Sterling after receiving the keys to his brand new 2009 Dodge Challenger RT that he won during a Morale Welfare and Recreation sponsored Bingo game aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis pulled into San Diego, Calif., to offload Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 prior to heading back to homeport in Bremerton, Wash. Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company by brothers Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge in 1900, Dodge was originally a supplier of parts and assemblies for Detroit-based automakers and began building complete automobiles in 1915, predating the founding of Chrysler Corporation.

In the United States Navy, these consist of ships commissioned with hull classification symbols CV (aircraft carrier), CVA (attack aircraft carrier), CVB (large aircraft carrier), CVL (light aircraft carrier), CVN (aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion) and CVAN (attack aircraft carrier (nuclear propulsion). The first aircraft carrier commissioned into the United States Navy was USS Langley (CV-1) on 20 March 1922.
