Arabian Gulf (Oct. 18, 2004) Aviation Boatswains Mate 3rd Class Vednabel Capeles plots launches and recovery data on an aircraft status board in Primary Flight (V-5) aboard the conventionally powered aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). V-5 personnel assist in the record keeping and the safe operation of flight by tracking fuel states of airborne aircraft. Kennedy and embarked Carrier Air Wing Seventeen are currently on deployment in the 5th fleet area of responsibility in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
