Description: After installing the line of geophones of the Apollo Seismic Experiment (ASE), Astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell, lunar module pilot, operates a hand-held thumper as he walks back toward the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment Package (ALSEP) central station. Footprints can be seen adjacent to the foreground computer. Images were taken by Astronauts Shepard and Mitchell during EVA 1 of the Apollo 14 mission. Original film magazine was labeled JJ,film type was S0168 (High Speed Color Reversal,Interior/Surface),60mm lens with a sun elevation of 12 degrees.
