Summary

Cheating a little with the title of this one, as there is no "Post No Bills" sign to be seen (although we know they existed in Ireland long before ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/8178145805 ) this photo was taken). However, I fell in love with it when I saw the gentleman caught in the act of sticking up posters on the gate piers of Portadown Railway Station...And what a joy those posters are! Hope you can make out the posters on the large size of this photo, but shout if you'd like me to add notes for any of them, and the best bit is that they date this photo to around May of 1879.....Date: Circa May 1879..NLI Ref.: L_CAB_01626 ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000058774 )
