An F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Lightning II aircraft takes off for its first flight during a test at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 15, 2006. The F-35, being built by Lockheed Martin, is the next generation strike fighter bringing cutting-edge technologies to the battlespace of the future.
