Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939) was an outstanding artist of the Art Nouveau era of the XIX-XX centuries, whom both the Czech Republic and France call their own. He became famous for his original posters with beautiful women and exquisite floral ornaments. Alphonse Mucha also created a series of monumental paintings glorifying the motherland. He also inscribed his name in the history of design. The 600-y.o. construction of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague was completed shortly after the installation of a grandiose stained glass window designed by this master.
