A Voice From the Tomb - Political cartoon, public domain image
Summary
This illustration entitled, "A Voice From the Tomb", by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Post on October 25, 1906, shows former Lieutenant Governor of New York, Timothy Woodward making accusations that campaign contributions came from corporations in the form of blackmail, much as Judge Alton B. Parker had claimed two years earlier. Berryman depicts Woodruff as all pomp and circumstance while trying fill the shoes of former Governor Benjamin Odell, which are clearly too large for him.
