KOTA KINABALU, Malaysia (May. 19, 2012) Aviation Maintenance Administrationman 3rd Class Matthew Francis, right, passes a bag of mud that was removed from a drainage trench to Aviation Machinist's Mate 1st Class Reynaldo Aurellano during a community service project at the Bukit Harapan Therapeutic Community children's home in Kota Kinabalu. For the project, Sailors and Marines deployed with the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) volunteered their labor and spent time with children at the home. Makin Island and embarked Marines assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are deployed in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
