MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Jul. 18, 2012) Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Taylor Tomlinson conducts maintenance on a gas turbine engine aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71). Cape St. George is deployed as part of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9, which is also comprised of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2 and Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 9. CSG-9 is operating in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
