Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Nov. 01, 2002) A Sailor aboard the Chilean training ship Esmeralda (BE-43) mans the rail under one of the ships four 165-foot masts shortly before pulling into Pearl Harbor for a weekend of liberty. The 371-foot, steel-hulled barquentine is the 2nd tallest sailing ship in the world and has a crew of 300 sailors and 90 midshipmen. The midshipmen recently finished a four-year naval academy training program and will finish their fifth year on a training cruise around the world aboard Esmeralda.
