George Washington is participating in Tailored Ships Training Availability and Final Evaluation Problem (TSTA/FEP) before a permanent homeport change in Yokosuka, Japan. The AWACS is used to provide airborne battle management, surveillance, and weapons control. This is the first time that an AWACS has done a low-approach fly-by over a U.S. naval vessel.
