A man in profile, wearing a white wig on his head, looks with contemplation at a piece of parchment. He sits in a red chair at a desk covered in green cloth whilst holding a quill in his mouth. A devilish, grey figure with two horns and a mischevious grin supports the man's elbow with his right hand, standing to the left of the main figure.
