ARABIAN SEA (Jun. 08, 2012) An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the Vigilantes of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 151 launches from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Lincoln is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and combat flight operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The first aircraft carrier commissioned into the United States Navy was USS Langley (CV-1) on 20 March 1922.
