Summary

Wilmington, N.C. (Apr. 16, 2005) A crew member aboard the U.S. Marine Corps C-130 Hercules "Fat Albert," assigned to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration team, proudly waves an American flag while taxing after finishing its demonstration at the 2005 Coastal Carolina Air Show in Wilmington, N.C. Fat Albert kicks-off each show with an jet assisted takeoff, demonstrating the C-130s ability to get airborne in minimal time and distance, simulating conditions in hostile environments and on short, unprepared runways. The Blue Angels fly the F/A-18A Hornet, performing approximately 30 maneuvers during the aerial demonstration lasting over an hour. This year's air show showcased civilian and military aircraft from the Nation's armed forces, which provided many flight demonstrations and static displays.
