South China Sea (Aug. 09, 2005) A Blackhawk helicopter from the Royal Brunei Air Force sits on the deck aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) as Landing Signal Enlisted (LSE) Storekeeper Seaman Deandre Callahan maintains communications with the pilot during deck landing qualifications. The qualifications are part of the Brunei phase of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2005. CARAT is an annual series of bilateral military training exercises with several Southeast Asian nations designed to enhance interoperability of the respective sea services.
