A 52nd Fighter Wing from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, F16 turns toward the runway in preparation to take off from Łask Air Base, Poland. The Air Force, along with its Polish counterparts, officially kicked off NATO exercise Ramstein Guard with the first F-16 flights from the South Carolina Air National Guard, 52nd Fighter Wing and the 32nd Tactical Wing from Poland, June 15, 2015. This exercise is designed to train NATO forces to operate in an adverse electromagnetic environment in an integrated and coordinated fashion. U.S. Airmen from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany and the South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing from McEntire Joint National Guard Base, are deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, during the month of June. These training missions pair U.S. fighter pilots and maintenance crews with their Polish Air Force counterparts at Łask Air Base, Poland. Through strengthened relationships and engagements with our allies, the U.S. and NATO demonstrate their shared commitment to a peaceful, stable and secure Europe.
