80-G-67937: Lieutenant Commander Klaus Heinz Bargsten sole survivor of a German submarine, U-521 sunk by USS Fury (PG-69) off the Atlantic Coast, June 2, 1943. Lieutenant Bargsten, the Commanding Officer of the U-boat, was landed at Naval Operating Base, Norfolk, by USS Pilot (AM-104) The rest of his crew were killed. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives. (2017/06/27).
