AWM caption : "An unidentified gun crew moving a six inch gun barrel at Cowan on Moreton Island, Qld. Two barrels were delivered by barge from the mainland and were dumped in the shallows. From there they were manhandled by artillery crews and fitted into the gun mounts. Each barrel weighed several tons and it was an exhausting job to move them into position. The men are using two sections of railway track to slowly roll the barrel forward."
