Description: Views taken during the extravehicular activity (EVA) required to perform the repair of the Solar Maximum Mission (SMM) observatory in the aft end of the payload bay of the space shuttle Challenger. These views were taken during the second EVA performed on this mission.On the left is EVA1 mission specialist George Nelson. On the right, standing on a portable foot restraint attached to the arm of the Remote Manipulator System (RMS), is EVA2 mission specialist James van Hoften. Van Hoften is holding the module service tool.
