Summary

245 leaving, Dundalk, Co. Louth...It seems that this is not No 245 leaving Dundalk but the 2.45pm leaving Dundalk, thanks to OwenMacC ( /photos/[email protected]/ ) . Owen also tells us that this is a class WT 2-6-4 Engine, "there were only 18 of these Class WT 2-6-4 locomotives built, numbered 1–10 and 50–57 so 245 is the time not engine number. Full stop needed. Looks like No.8 above" ..Photographer: James P. O'Dea. .Collection: James P. O'Dea ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Collection/vtls000148612 ) . .Date: October 31 1964. .NLI Ref.: ODEA 40/77 ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000307190 ) . .You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie ( http://catalogue.nli.ie )

Images from our photo collections that show those magnificent men (and women) in their flying, choo choo-ing, and driving machines... Oh, and we've cheated, we're adding boats and ships, jaunting cars and carriages, trams too and bicycles - we're completely shameless. So, basically any form of transport - air, sea, land - with the exception of two human feet...
