SAN DIEGO (Aug., 22 2019) -- Heather Gaburo, a Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) pathologist assistant, examines tissue in the lab. NMCSD sees hundreds of patients and makes hundreds of diagnoses daily, about 70 percent of those diagnoses are based off of lab results. The staff pathologists play a critical role in the mission of NMCSD, to deliver quality healthcare services in the San Diego region and to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
