ATLANTIC OCEAN (Feb. 21, 2018) Aviation Structural Mechanic (Equipment) 3rd Class Charlton Caruta, assigned to the "Red Rippers" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 11, performs maintenance on an F/A-18F Super Hornet in the hangar bay aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). Harry S. Truman is underway for composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX), which evaluates the strike group's ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea - ultimately certifying the Harry S.
