During the days when the photo was taken, Ankara Radio House used to do live broadcasting. Every Saturday, Radio Kids Club programme was broadcasted. Ankara Radio Station started broadcasting at the basement floor of Ankara Palas in 1927. After moving several times, it finally settled in its final destination at the Atatürk Boulevard since October 28, 1938..İstanbul and Ankara radio stations were managed through the Radio Department under the Directorate General of Press. General Director Vedat Nedim Tör was a man of culture. Mesut Cemil Tel was responsible for the music broadcasts at the radio. Muzaffer Sarısözen was managing the Choir of Voices from Homeland (Yurttan Sesler Korosu)....Atatürk Bulvarı, Radyoevi, 1940’lı yıllar...Ankara Radyoevi’nde canlı yayın yapılıyordu o yıllarda, fotoğrafın çekildiği 1940’larda. Her cumartesi günü Radyo Çocuk Kulübü’nden yayını yapılırdı. Ankara Radyosu, Ankara Palas’ın bodrum katında 1927’de yayına başlamış. Birkaç yer değiştirdikten sonra 28 Ekim 1938’de itibaren Atatürk Bulvarı üzerindeki son durağında. .İstanbul ve Ankara radyoları, Matbuat Umum Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı Radyo Dairesi’nden yönetiliyor. Umum Müdür bir kültür adamı, Vedat Nedim Tör. Radyo’da müzik yayınları Mesut Cemil Tel’den soruluyor. Yurttan Sesler Korosu’nu Muzaffer Sarısözen çalıştırıyor.

A collection is reflecting the urbanisation processes of Ankara, a capital of Republic of Turkey, between 1930-1960 through the eyes of photographers whose works took place in the archive of Directorate General of Press and Information. Within the framework of this archive, we have collected photos starting from the Ankara Railway Station, followed by various boulevards which finally arrive at Çankaya.
