Zusammenfassung
At sea aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) Oct. 24, 2002 -- Airman John Munn from Buffalo, N.Y., demonstrates to Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) students (from left) Delarean Langford, Shantell Stovall and Tanira Smith how aircraft are identified and positioned on the ship’s flight deck. The Granby High School NJROTC unit had the opportunity to get underway with the Wasp for a four-day orientation field trip. The students learned about the ship's radar systems, aircraft, and the jobs the 1,000 Sailors aboard perform every day. Wasp is homeported in Norfolk, Va., and is preparing for a six-month shipyard maintenance and habitability period. U.S. Navy photo by Journalist 1st Class Crystal M. Raner. (RELEASED)
