The partof the nose treated reacted promptly, but the inflammation producedwas not severe enough to cause profuse discharge or slough. Thesurface promptly healed over, and two weeks later no remnant ofthe disease was apparent. There has been no sign of recurrence upto the present time, November 23, 1900. At the time of exposure the patient experiences no uncomfort-able sense of heat. In fact, there is no sensation whatever. Thetime required for the treatment is not burdensome in view of thepalliative results which occur almost immediately and the permanentbenefit obtained in a few weeks. The photographs of case two weretaken only six weeks apart. The relief from pain followed the firsttreatment in three cases. This is
