Students commemorate the contributions to the American nation of significant groups including National Hispanic History Month, Native American Heritage Month, and Black History Month.

Daniel Boone come to life. Washington, D.C., July 31. George S. Stirl of Burkes County, PA, who travels about the country dressed as the famous American poineer Daniel Boone, has been an ardent supporter of President Roosevelt since the president was first nominated. He has done this $10,000.00 worth of publicity, according to Stirl by writing on the sidewalks in chalk "long live President Roosevelt." He did the writing buying the chalk with money that should have been spent for food, 7/31/37
