Bird-Eye Views of Italy and Southern France, 1850s

Alfred Guesdon ( Nantes , 1808 - 1876 ) was a French architect, engraver and lithographer. He is known for the lithographs he made of various European cities in the mid-nineteenth century for publication in the magazine La Illustration, Journal Universel de Paris .
It is believed that to produce his prints, he used photographs taken by the photographer and Welsh aeronaut Charles Clifford, from his hot air balloon.
